How AI is Shaping the Future of Healthcare

We’ve all seen how quickly artificial intelligence (AI) is changing our world. Algorithms including Siri, Face ID, and ChatGPT have evolved to become regular parts of our lives. Originally designed as tools, these and other AI models are now becoming integral parts of the way we live. With the continuous rapid advancements of these technologies, who knows what the next few years will bring? What will be our new regular in fifteen years? One area in which AI is already making huge changes is healthcare. There are a variety of ways in which these healthcare changes are already happening.
Artificial intelligence improves efficiency of surgical procedures. This is possible because of algorithms which analyze patients anatomy and suggest treatment options. For example the Carto 3 System uses AI to create maps of the heart in real time. This helps surgeons perform procedures with a better understanding of what they are doing. As these technologies continue to be used, they pave the way for surgeries to become safer and even faster.
Another important use of artificial intelligence is through personalizing healthcare. AI Technologies can also analyze large amounts of data and help provide personalized care based on each person’s individual needs. This not only saves time, but also helps healthcare professionals obtain a better understanding of their patients’ individual needs. This is especially useful because patients tend to have unique issues and different backgrounds which must be taken into account in order to provide them with the best possible care.
AI can help speed up the process of drug discovery. Regular drug research takes years and costs a lot of resources. Artificial intelligence technologies can efficiently process huge amounts of data and use it to help identify which chemical compounds can target specific diseases. Algorithms can make these processes faster and potentially lead to quicker developments in pharmaceutical sciences. In the future this could be especially useful when there are urgent issues like the 2020 Covid crisis.
Overall, AI is continuing to advance and changing the future of healthcare. There are so many ways in which technologies can make things more efficient. In the future, some of these advances might become as regular in our lives as unlocking a phone with a face ID!
